BREAKING NEWS! THE H1N1 virus has officailly been confirmed to have infected Malaysia.WE ARE AT RISK.This leaves Singapore extremely vulnerable to the H1N1 virus.What's worse is that the customs office may not be reliable to keep the virus at bay.China is infected,Malaysia is infected,New Zealand is infected, Japan is infected, Korea is infected. When is it Singapore's turn?

Walk in the park turns out to become tragedy

A couple, their dog and three childern went for a walk in the park when the dog fell into a canal.The couple,having a close affection with the dog,jumped in and drowned!The children were left as orphans and the dog died too.
What people do for their pets is truly shocking.Maybe in this case,the couples did not anticipate the dangers posed by the canal and the possible endangerment of their lives.However,this goes to show that pet owners usually grow attached to their pets.The couple did not hesitate to save the dog and their childern became orphans due to this mistake.The couple are "blinded" by their love for the dog and therefor lose sense.Is this what they call the power of love?Are pet owners all like that?Another example is well-known Oprah Winfrey crying over her dying dog.Are pets really so important to their owners?

The controversies over the "Liu Guodong" matter are settled

Just today, the 38 year old Chinese told reporters that he respected the decisions made by the Table Tennis Committee and graciously accepts the fact that he is not nominated the Coach of the Year award.Yet he has helped Singapore clinch a silver medal in the Beijing Olympics last year, a medal in nearly 5 decades.Many are sympathising with the coach as he was nominated for Coach of the Year but did not receive the award.The Committee announces that he has been negligent to other players,for example he was absent during one of the Men's Singles in Table Tennis during the Olympics and that particular player lost that round.

Personally,I think he should have had received the award.Having to face another 4 years of 'non-medal glory' in the Olympics is a bit shameful.He has helped our table tennis women's team consisting of Li Jia Wei, Feng Tian Wei and Wang Yue Gu,to achieve the Silver medal in the Olympics.I think that this achievement therefor merits him for the award.I shall now continue on to my second post,related to this issue.

Mother's Day

Today,my family went to a bistro in the Lim Chu Kang area,Poison Ivy, to celebrate Mother's day for my mother.Though Poison Ivy is located in a very rural area, when we reached our destination,we realised it was packed.Apparently,many chose Poison Ivy as their choice to celebrate Mother's Day.The food served there is all organic,made from the freshest veggies grown in their vegetable patch at the back.Thus,while waiting for the food to arrive,we decided to take a look at the vegetable patch.It was filled with exotic plants and herbs from different countries and also rare vegetables rarely found in Singapore.The food served can be described with one word, "Perfect". It was delictable and nutritious at the same time.Then,while we were enjoying the food,the female boss came out and made a speech for us,ending of with a "Thank you for celebrating Mother's Day here with us!" It was truly a speacial Mother's Day.

A(H1N1) Influenza Strain - The threat is coming

From what seemed to be a seasonal flu outbreak in Mexico has turned out to be a deadly new strain of virus that infects pigs and humans alike.This virus has spread all the way to the shores of Malaysia now,with 1 suspected case there and 1 confirmed case in Hong Kong,Japan,Korea and New Zeland. The World Health Organisation has raised the pandemic level to 5 which signifies that a pandemic will be imminent. In fact, recent news prove that Level 6 would be reached sooner or later.However,this does not mean the end of the world.This just signals that there is a pandamic. According to experts and doctors,there is no use in worrying about the virus.In fact,worrying about the virus would further decrease your immunity,causing you to be more vulnerable to viruses.
We should all be vigilant in these times.
Be considerate.If you show Flu-like symptoms,please do not report for work or school as you may never know what you would spread to others.
Be wary.Try avoiding crowded places as much as possible as this would lessen your chances of catching the flu.
Be prepared.The virus has already spread to many of our neighbouring countries like Japan,South Korea and worst of all a suspected case in Malaysia.We must be prepared to raise to Red Alert.
Be optimistic.We must not worry too much and hope for the best.This would help in boosting the immunity system of your body.
